You are welcome Ed. I am glad you like the extra. I hope the movement serves you well and I am sure it will. Keeps us informed on the progress. I missed your call because we were outside. Our son got me a birthday and early Fathers day gift of a new infra-red BBQ grill so we were putting that together and also did some planting in the garden. Needed to get that done as the grandkids will be here this morning so won’t get much done today or tomorrow. :D Always enjoy it when they come especially the grandson as he likes to go to the shop and turn wood with grandpa. 😆 Anyway Ed enjoy.

Hey Bernie, happy B-day ;) I had to put mine in my safe because as I collect clocks she collects those, ALL THAT SIT AROUND 😆 Enjoy your grandchildren, friends and family and on my end, I’m in heaven in my clock room, (Man cave,) listening to all of my clocks ticking and cuckooing. Today not much will get done as I deserve a break. Dadgummit, just looked at one of my wall clocks and it has gone to sleep. Wound it and it still must be tired. Oh-well, just another day in a clock makers dream. A sleepy clock :) Oh well sorry I told the untruth, just didn’t know until now. 8-) Good day ladies and gents, Ed. ;)

Thanks to a very good friend of mine, He has contributed this movement, three shells two with weights, chains and other parts for my grandmother clock project. Never have I ran across such a generious husband and wife team with such support and my wife and I would like to thank them both from our hearts. 8-) Or is this an attempt to push me harder toward a completion? :D In either it’s working. :P Gods speed to all, Ed. 8-)

Hey will; the other movement is in really bad shape and not working at all. The case looks really rough that’s why I decided to do the door and entire case over again. I already am set-up to do this from start to finish. No it didn’t chime, no chime block, the clock was butchered from delivery. But since I’m changing out the entire movement, chime set-up, face, pendulum and more I figured why not go all the way? I’m going to add a Westminster chime set-up to it also. As of right now, I figured all I have is a lot of head scratching to do with set-up’s and completion. :? 8-) But I worry not, that’s why you guy’s are here. 💡 💡 💡 :D 8-)

Hey Bernie; moving dead slow on the grandmother project. Fine with it for right now, got a couple of paying jobs I’m currently working on :| . As soon as I get straight with these movements, I’ll have more funds to invest in my endeavor 8-) . will post all I do and ask more questions as I move on with it. Thanks again, Ed.

                      Happy B Day Arutha.

Hello to all and hope your Easter was wonderful and safe, seemingly, since my wife has encountered recently new medical conditions, My drive is still their, but consistent double duty is slowly taking it’s toll on me. Therefor my grandmother clock project has almost come to dead slow. “Example”, Consistent plane, jet and chopper jumps with full combat gear into jungle’s/desserts/extremely cold regions/mountains/water, etc, along with mewling 75+ pounds of gear over 15 to 25 mile grinds/”HUMPS”, need I say more? Being a young and foolish paratrooper with boo coo and extreme mental and physical power then, has no avail on being todays older disabled and now, worn down civilian. Running now on her needs and “leave no man behind”! I maintain. But with little extras. 8-) Be mindful now, this is in no way a distress call, just an update. :) So Bernie and all of the rest of you hard chargers, don’t by any means. “Count this trooper out”! Remember, Dead slow is still driving-on, just more from the GRUNT and the GUT. 8-) So with that being said; Let’s all drive-on and forget not, where you come from and your extreme ability’s. !!!!!AIRBORNE!!!!!

Gotcha Ed. We are on the road visiting grandkids so haven’t did much in the shop/home either. Friday this week is the day for my right eye to be done. So won’t have much shop time for a couple of weeks again but if it turns out as good as my left I don’t care. :D Your post reminds me of a old saying from my grandmother which is true today especially for me.

“I used to eat snap, crackle and pop for breakfast every morning. Now when I get out of bed all I hear is snap, crackle and pop.”

So these days Ed it is slow and steady for me. What I used to do all day now takes me all day to do. 😆 Do what you can do and the rest will wait till tomorrow.

Hey Bernie, Snap Crackle and pop Is now popping crackling and somewhat snapping. (My bones not my mind.) :D Bernie; tomorrow is just todays lost and or gained time. A slow day is much more expectable than a no day :D I choose the slow day :P Thanks for the reply and surly you if no-one else will always be posted on this subject. Keep the drive. 8-) But all will be posted, I can’t leave the rest of the crew out, I still have style and diviner 8-)

Slow go, but getting there. I have sanded the entire front and backside of the door and the entire backside of the clock itself. I have made up my mind to hand sand the entire clock with reservations of the top. The top I may use stripper. I just am not really happy with the job it has done on the back and door. I still have to go along and do quite a bit of sanding behind it. I like to be in control of the level of final inspection. :) It may be a little more work, but it satisfies me. I think I would like to put something on the wood, (such as a base coat of sorts.) I would like to do this to kind of even-out the stain and get a more even color throughout. Then I want to apply a sealer walnut stain and then a shellac/varnish for shine. I would also like to put a mirror on the backside of the inside of the clock. Along with a few more settle additives to it, originality was gone out the door when I received it, now all upgrades. :)

My wife is coming along well now and will soon be back at work :D Which will free me up and give me more time for my projects along with more income to complete more of my goals. :) She along with you all send our thanks for all the support from the form. :) Well from here I’ll post a couple of pics as an update. Thank you all and am always open to suggestions as I know I will always have more questions. 8-)
