      Could be that’s what happened to the previous watchmaker,..or, he / she replaced the dial, and because of the difference in the way the dial fitted up the hour pipe kept creeping up and not meshing,..so two were used.
      No harm in having two actually,..just not normally needed.

        Ah, you know, I was wondering about the double-up, too. When I get to that stage I’ll be sure to take a good hard look at it from all these great different angles. The possibilities as to why this occured seem numerous!
