lesson learned, when it comes to crystals, do not use harsh chemicals to clean them. I like to use “Invisible Glass” made by Stoner.
It was more then likely the crystal was glued in, the most common glue is a ultra violet glue that hardens with ultra violet light, if you have a window that is exposed to a lot of sunlight, you can sit the bezel and crystal in the sun after applying the glue, it will activate the glue and cure it so you do not have to pick up a ultra violet light source. Under the ultra violet light source the glue cures in about a half hour, in the sun it takes longer as it is not as intense.
