      What kind of wire do I need to replace this one that broke when I disassembled the movement for cleaning?

        I think that normally there would be a tapered pin, wich you can either make yourself from steel or buy at the material house.
        I might be wrong since I do not have a lot of experience.

          More picture would help like a side view, top view so we can see what kind of wheel it is. Most generally and I am guessing from your picture that the wire is holding a spring against the wheel. If that is what it does then a semi soft steel wire will do the trick but like I said from the picture it is hard to tell what you really have.

            It’s the ratchet wheel (not sure that’s the correct term) on an old cuckoo clock. Here is a better picture. Thank you.
