      Hi all,

Just wanted to share my new addition that arrived yesterday with you.

A Waltham 18s PS Bartlett. None running and the crown is an incorrect replacement, so I’m anxious to strip her down and check the heart :D

Anyone care to venture a guess as to what the cause of failure is, just for fun :D

😆 That’s what I suspected Paul, 9 times out of 10 it is, but alas, another pleasant surprise, a mere broken winding stem & mainspring, except the old stem is stuck inside the gear 👿 I just love trying to drill those out!!

I’d love to have a word in the pearl like ear of the animal that used that much force… MUST WIND HARDER 😆

You should see some of the twisted clock barrel arbors I have seen, they must wind their clocks up with 2 metre extension bar welded to the clock key! 😯

Im going to guess its the mainspring and a broken winding stem.
