Could someone please tell me why this model has the stem attached to the movement rather than the stem being part of the case? I would like to restore it but do not know what kind of case I should look for.

        Hi Hank,
I’m not going to be of much if any help for you here.
You’ll find this stem config. on many movements made by various manufacturers. They were often made for private label watch companies as well as for the manufacturers lower priced watches, travel clocks or possibly special applications where a female stem is required. I don’t know enough about them to direct you to the case needed for your movement though. Maybe another member has some more in-depth info for you.

Thanks for replying Bob. I’ll wait to see if any other members respond with additional information.
