With the addition of the clock makers forum, I think we could benefit from a watchmakers forum as well, there are several things members could benefit from, and if we can find the people with the knowledge that are willing to put forth the time and effort, we can develop quite the resource for watch makers in community.
A few topics off the top of my head would be using a Jacot tool, replacing jewels, both friction as well as rubbed in, turning a balance staff, etc. While I am still at best an apprentice, at some point I would like to contribute to a forum for watchmakers, I have been slowly adding the tools needed for some of the topics above, and I am working on developing the skills for these, but we have a good group of knowledgeable watchmakers in here, and it would be great to see what they have to offer.
Also I am working on L&R varimatic and the ultrasonic unit that goes with it, sourcing of parts and repairing these devices for members to reference.

It’s good to see there’s also an interest in a ‘Watchmaking’ forum. A similar forum to William and Pauls Clockmaking forum is planned for the future and will hopefully be in place by next summer. We are currently working on a project that will be tied into the Clockmaking forum which needs to be completed first. When the Clockmaking forum is moving along smoothly and a separate project that I’m personally working on which will be part of the new ‘Watchmaking’ forum moves closer to completion, we will be able to launch the ‘Watchmaking’ forum. Fingers crossed here but so far we are on schedule. Also the forum structure will most likely undergo a major change during this same period.
Thanks again Steve!
