Servicing Station ??

Very new to this so please excuse my lack of terminology. What do you guys use to service and test a clock movement outside of the case? I have a Hermle 351 movement from a wall clock that I recovered from an estate home. I am trying to learn about the clock, how to service and hopefully get back into a running timepiece.

I need something to hang the movement on so it can run outside of the case, troubleshoot, adjust, etc. Currently I have cleaned and oiled the movement, but after I got it back in the case, I am finding there are other adjustments and troubleshooting that needs to be done. It’s easier to do the work obviously outside the case – but I need to hang it so I can add the pendulum and allow it to run.

I am hoping you can share maybe a photo of your setup to give me an idea of what I need to try to build to support the movement and pendulum.

I realize that this is from a long time ago, but I have this movement stand and it works great.

You can also get posts that attach to a screw mount and this mounts to a vertical board.

If you are going to go cheap, just any sturdy board that you can set up vertically and screw the movement to, using the same mounts that the clock mounts into the case, works well. The advantage of the links above is faster set up and tear down, mostly.
