Safety pulley explaination…

Based on Bob’s videos I think I understand the safety pulley concept. Yet, it would be helpful to get a more in-depth description of both how it is used (say, when turning a balance staff for example), and where you can get one for the WW 8mm watch lathe.

Tom,
I am pretty sure that there is a Steffan Pahlow video showing him using a driver with a safety pulley but I couldn’t find it. Instead of a bow he was driving the lathe with a cast iron pulley.
