Do any of you have a reference for these ?
I need the dimensions for the crystal and compression gasket for case style 7909.
I have a customer who wants the original style domed crystal,,which I can get in mineral glass from Otto Frei. The one on Ebay for this case, is a flat crystal.I have the watch, and can measure once I remove the broken crystal. But just to make sure of the size, I was wondering if any of you might have a catalog that lists the dimensions ?
Thanks
RB
December 27, 2014 at 10:43 am #61082Hi Randy,
I’m not sure if following info is correct or not or if it will be helpful but I have the crystal listed in my GS catalog as a PA 457-50 low dome at 28.9mm for this Rolex. Not sure about the compression ring being needed though? Also further online searching for the PA 457-50 brought up the following eBay auction which seems to support the GS listing.
Here’s the eBay link:

Hope this helps!
BobDecember 27, 2014 at 3:05 pm #61081Thanks Bob…I hadn’t figured out the “tropical” angle yet.
And I think that you’re correct on the gasket as well…I hadn’t removed the movement yet,.but assumed that it would have one,..as many of these do…I think this will work !!

December 27, 2014 at 3:36 pm #61083Hi Randy,
I’m seeing it as Tropic 11 but that may depend on the year. Looks like there may be a change to Tropic 12 after a certain year. Do you have a date you can pass on to me? I can try to look it up for you.
BobDecember 27, 2014 at 3:50 pm #61084I think I just stumbled onto something on the Otto-Frei site.
Generic Crystal, Replacement for Tropic 11
$10.60

Fits Case numbers in 1969 Rolex Case book. Later Rolex discontinued Tropic 11 and for some case numbers they said to use Tropic 12 instead of Tropic 11. December 27, 2014 at 4:16 pm #61085Hey no problem Randy,
I couldn’t figure out what my manual was saying about the number variation but what you posted makes it clear now. I’ll scribble a note in there for future reference. Glad you posted this topic…it was good to go down memory lane.
Adios and enjoy!
