Hello Clock King! That’s a really good question. Fortunately it’s been covered in great detail Up here over the years. I’ll post some links to some worth reading past discussions that might help. The first link is a discussion that I was involved in. I posted some links in a post that will also take you to some good pages. Hope I put the links in correctly. https://clockrepairtips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2284&p=16971&hilit=Bushings#p16971 https://clockrepairtips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2239&p=16822&hilit=Bushing+sizes#p16822 https://clockrepairtips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2303&hilit=Bushing+sizes https://clockrepairtips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2303&p=17031&hilit=Bushings#p17031

Hi again everyone,
I bought a hand reamer and pivot gauge, but now I’m not sure of the best way to measure the plate height. What is best way to measure the height to follow the pivot gauge? I bought a micrometer but I’m too stupid to read it
Get a digital micrometer, online or at Harbor Freight store. Not expensive and easy to read.
I bought a digital caliber, will that work?
It’ll work just fine for what you need.
Awesome!
