a recent pocket watch acquisition: a12S old Elgin will only start to run after shaking it slightly when wound. It does run well once started. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be–thanks, Andrew
Hi Andrew,
First and foremost would be need of cleaning and oiling. If still doing it after that then would check the beat. Other things can cause this too but would start there as those are common problems.
