      All:

I need to buy a dovetail cutter and I have a question. In my inventory I currently have a 3/8″ Ø end mill holder and I was wondering if I could use that holder to hold the dovetail cutter with a 3/8″ Ø shank?

      Thanks,
      Tom

        Tom,
Yes, a 3/8 shank is a 3/8 shank regardless of the cutter configuration. If you are going to use a dovetail cutter, hog out as much metal as you possibly can with a straight end mill first. Save the dovetail cutter for the angle portion of the cut.
