I have tried many times to repair / rebuild the strip anchor and end up with a good looking verge, but unfortunately a non running movement. Does anyone know of a good book that really explains the physics and angles behind the recoil escapement? I already have Steve Connover’s Escapement book, but it covers too many different escapements and does not really dive in to any one in particular. I just ordered Practical Clock Escapements by Laurie Penman as it’s the only thing I could find on the web. The clock I’m working on now has bad angles on the strip anchor. The pendulum runs (approx 1/8″ swing) and there is zero recoil. I know it’s bad but I’m not sure what it needs to be. Any help would help to minimize my frustration levels.

      Thanks Mike
