Hello everyone, Bill here. I have been looking at pocket watches that are not working that I can buy cheap enough to fix and gain some experience. My question’s are, 1) What is meant by a watch having a double roller? 2) It seems that a Hunter case must be something special because they usually have a higher price than the “STANDARD CASE”. What is so special about them?

        Hi Bill,
Double and single rollers are covered in some of the videos in the watch course. Check the staffing videos. Also the text section under “Safety Action” in the course covers them.
As far as the hunter case goes they are nothing really special. Just not as common as the open face so price is often higher.
Hope you find some good buys Bill!
        Enjoy,
        Bob

Hi Bill, a half hunter has half the face covered, just a half sized case glass and a full hunter case completely covers the face. I can only assume in days of old you wanted your pocket watch glass protected while you were out hunting :)
