I took this Waltham apart the other day…Am I hearing another unfinished symphony 😆 …. and an odd thing I noticed was the invasion of green whatchamacallit on the jewel settings, mainly on the balance jewels, I wonder why it hit there in such force and not in other areas…. Tastier oil? A more important part? the resonance of the rotating pivot? Gawd knows…

I can’t wait to buff and polish it back to its original glory with my toothpick, tweezers and polishing compound, hunched over like some mad scientist intently focused on his new & monstrous creation 😆

        Chris,
The spotting and in particular the green color is probably oxidation ocurring in the copper based metal. When I was in the Army many years ago they made us polish it out of our brass shirt collar buttons with BRASSO.
