I was looking for an affordable homage to the Seamaster 007 watch that Omega built for the movie..and I stumbled on this

      https://www.octopuskraken.com/item/classicdiveing_007_retro_black/4918435/

      I bought one..recv’d it 3 days ago,..and I am more than a little impressed.

The PT5000 movement is based off of the venerable ETA2824-2,..and the finish is nice.

They also took one to Glashutte a couple of years ago, and recv’d a chronometer rating.

It has a real domed sapphire crystal, C3 luminous on the hands and dial ( and it lasts all night ! )

Working Helium release valve and a tested 300m /1000 ft rating.

It sits very nice on the wrist, and the mesh band is comfortable

      All for under $300 US.

I’ve attached a timegraph reading from this morning. This is pretty much what I get each day.

Time will tell how robust the movement is..but for me it’s a keeper.

Just had to share…I think that they are getting better each year.

        That’s a beautiful watch Randy!

Did a little digging around and found that the PT5000 is getting some amazing reviews. You can even source parts when needed! Watch out Switzerland.

          Thanks Bob,

I can’t keep staring at it LOL !

Yes,..I think that at least some of the manufacturers there are getting very competent.
