Hello. I’m new to the forum and clock repair even though I have been keepin my 3 Hermle clucks going for years.  I recently aquired a Napolean Hat mantel clock.  The only markings on it are on the face which say “Made in Baden”.  It is a clock only, Runs (but a little slow), and it needs cleaning and I suspect needs a mainspring.  Does anyone have any idea who built this and possible vintage?

I have never dealt with a clock with a hairspring and am wondering if there is anything I need to be aware of. It also apears that it will be a challenge letting the mainspring down as it has a builtin key.

any words of wisdom will be appreciated!20260524_09524220260524_09510020260524_09530120260523_09164920260523_14425220260523_14433520260523_144418

Nice photos! Cute clock. This style is usually referred to as a tambour clock. I did a search for clock manufacturers in Baden, and Junghans has a factory there.  They have been making timepieces since the late 1800s. Yours looks to be in very good condition. Unless you’ve had experience with balance wheel clocks, I suggest you take it to someone for service.

Thanks for the input. I’m going to still give it a try on servicing. It’s the only way I will learn.
