      Can anyone tell me who makes the best quality grandfather clock movements–Thanks Gary

        You can get some custom hand made one’s that are excellent but you will pay the price. As for off the shelf you have 3 choices. Hermle, Urgos, or Kieninger. Hermle owns Urgos and Howard Miller owns Kieninger. Kieninger’s are not cheap either. I put a replacement movement in a grandfather case I built and it was a Hermle. So that would be my first go if I needed a movement. You can find them at Black Forest Imports. Butterworth clocks also has them but he sells onlh to repair shop.
