recently I had a barrel cap that had no access hole and refused to come off. I heated up a almost full cup of water in my favorite coffee cup, holding the barrel by the arbor with the tip of a pliers I placed the barrel into the hot water, cap up, applied ice to the cap for about 20 seconds, moving it around to cool the cap as much as possible and WHALLA 😯 !!! cap came right off.
