Woke up early this Sunday morning and got stuck into pulling apart my aged Smiths Empire “dollar” pocket watch. I bought an ultrasonic el-cheapo cleaner so now to clean what I can. Mind you, I have never known this pocket watch to be in working order so I don’t hold out high hopes of anything other than piecing it correctly together again.
I also pulled out the movement of a Seiko 7S26A which there is a few well pictured tutorials on.
After a few hours of being puzzled, I finally got this Hamilton movement out of this case.
September 7, 2014 at 6:35 am #59249You might surprise yourself with the dollar watch. I have 4 of them that both my grandfathers gave to me when I graduated 8th grade and high school. Anyway I took them down and a few bad words were said during the process but I did get them back together and they are all 4 working so it can be done but I will never do another one. 😆
On another note they aren’t worth anything except to me which money could never buy them.
