Cylinder balance staffs

Hi all,
I was going through some of the stuff from a deceased estate and found these new cylinder balance staffs. Are these of any use to anyone?

They are worth putting on e-bay, cylinders are very hard to find now and hardly anybody is prepared to make one these days.

I will do that I just wanted to give this forum a first go at them. Coincidently, I bought a pocket watch a while bake with a broken cylinder staff and could not fix so I used it for parts. Now I have these I don’t have the complete watch.

To be honest you would have been lucky to have one there that would have been an easy fit/replacement. You can almost guarantee the pivots would have needed adjusting or the outside diameter of the cylinder would be different. There was quite a variation in cylinders, not as much as in balance staffs but still a fair bit so don’t feel too bad

Yes You are right there each one of these are a different size in length and barrel size. I have put them on eBay with their measurements
