I have just overhauled a Regula 859, 25-P and the catch that holds the bird out for the strikes and tail lift won’t catch, it just keep popping off and letting the bird swing in and out. A slight touch down on the latch and it catches until released at the end of the chimes. I added a small temporary weight (.5g) to the end of the leaver and it works most of the time. It may release on the first or second strike then it catches and holds. There is no excess play in the leaver or its pivot. Adding a weight is not my idea of a good repair, just a test to find out where the problem lies. Any suggestions on what to adjust to make a good repair?
