I just purchased a Waltham Grade 610 1899 16s pocket watch in a Gold Plated case marked J.BOSS Guaranteed 20 Years. It’s in very good condition. The outside has machine tuned markings on both sides which is a little dull looking. What is the recommended way to bring the polished shine back like the inside of the case?

Hi hank7421. Since you are not being overwhelmed with answers, and understanding I am not an expert in this arena, I’ll just tell you what I’d do. Hopefully someone will come along and give you a more authoritative answer. I would use a very clean, soft, cotton cloth and Simichrome. I suspect it would not take a whole lot of elbow grease to get the job done. Then finally brush off any remaining residue with a soft brush. That’s what I would do until someone told me something better. Simichrome is amazing stuff.
