I have a Seth Thomas wall clock. The shaft on the strike mainspring wheel broke while I was re-winding after cleaning and lubricating. Where can I get a replacement?
September 15, 2015 at 6:40 pm #63283Unless you can find another movement (ebay) which I think yours is a 89E get your lathe out and make one. I will look thru my parts and see if I may have one. Measurements such as shaft length between the plates and how long is the arbor from plate to tip. Anyway will see what I may have.

I am new at this and do not have a lathe. I did check on e-bay and have found movements that will work.

September 16, 2015 at 6:10 pm #63285That will probably be your best bet. I have a 89L and 89 AE but not sure they are the same. Overall measurement of the shaft, between the plate measurement would help greatly.
September 17, 2015 at 7:35 am #63286Measurement between the plates (inside) = 1.35 inches
September 17, 2015 at 5:51 pm #63287I will take a look see and measure the two I have.

September 22, 2015 at 4:19 pm #63289Bob dug thru box of junk movements today. Sorry it has been so long as the wife had to have dental surgery. Anyway I don’t have a strike great wheel or shaft for the strike side. Sorry. So I would see if you can find a movement on ebay for it. Have a good one.
