Alarm Clocks

Hi everyone,
I have a few questions about a vintage alarm clock I’m working on, but, I thought I would ask this one first. Am I allowed to ask questions about alarm clocks on this forum or not : . I didn’t want to upset anyone.

Good Morning,
I was planning to post pictures with this question but my new phone just will not cooperate. Anyway can anyone tell me how to clean the hair spring ( I think that’s what it is called) in my alarm clock?. It’s a 1941 big ben, any help would be appreciated. I’m just starting so I hope these are not dumb questions, thanks.

Not a dumb question at all. I clean all hairsprings in clocks, alarms, watches, etc in One Dip. It cleans, inhibits rust and dries quickly leaving no residue. You can buy it at most watch supply houses. Here is one. http://www.esslinger.com/watchmakers-one-dip-hairspring-cleaning-solution.aspx
