Hi Tom,
I’m not sure how I found that video. I was checking a few things online and found it opened on one of my tabs! Must have clicked on a link without even realizing it. Whatever happened I’m glad it came up. Hopefully we’ll here more good things about both of them over the next few years.

Always good to see new people starting out in horology. There is certainly more interest in watchmaking than for clockmaking and it does make me wonder what is going to happen to this industry in the future. The BHI don’t seem to be doing much to help the situation I do hope things change, who knows, there could be a renewed interest in clocks too at some point. I hope so anyway

Great post Bob.

I agree with Paul that over the past several years I have seen a decline in clock repair. We used to have 9 of us in about a 200 mile radius of me. Last year we lost number 8. He retired and moved to be near his daughter. His son is selling all of his stuff on ebay. I did buy a couple of things when I went to help him. So now there is no clock repair but me for about a 350 mile radius. Sad for sure. I have tried to get some involved with clocks but and I hate to say it they were either lazy or texting was more important.
