You probably need to strip off the old gold first. You can reclaim it as well. My dad had a plating shop when I was a kid and he did industrial chrome for fire trucks, antique cars and the like. He did gold, silver, bronze, copper, nickle, and chrome plating. Unfortunately, he used to dump his chemicals in our backyard – we had well water too. He almost died a few times from heavy metal poisining. I wonder what’s in store for me? Hmmm… Anyway, we used to play with lead and mercury like tinker toys. Dang… just think of what my IQ would have been if not for sucking on lead plates as a kid. ;)
