I double click the photo from the Hampden folder so that it will open up in my default photo editing program, which is Photoshop Elements.
I cannot say enough good things about this program. There is a learning curve to it, but once you learn the basics..FANTASTIC. Plus there are tons of free tutorials on YouTube..
