Hi Bob, thanks for the reply.
When I took the platform apart I could see that one of the jewels had dropped slightly, I very carefuly moved it back up level with the holding arms then placed it on a thin brass sheet, scraped the tiniest amount of shellac from a stick, broke it into even smaller pieces and put one small piece on each of the jewels. I then heated it from beneath with a zippo and watched the shellac just start to melt and then took the heat away. It carried on melting and made a smooth cover over both jewels. I gave the lose one a tiny nudge with the tweezers once I was sure it was cool and it is holding in place. I will put the platform back together and let you know what happens! 😯
